Pricing guide
The table below this guide shows prices for head and shoulders portrait of a single subject whether that is a person or animal.
The Jack Russel provides a good example of a normal portrait, his was created in colour pencil and pastel so is a mixed media painting which was created on 9x12 Strathmore Bristol Vellum.
Portraits can vary with some needing more time to complete than others. A good example of this is the Tri-merle bulldog pup, Delilah, which has the lighter green background. She has a highly complex colour patterned coat which needed to be completely accurate and that required more time to complete than a normal portrait would do.
My portraits are presented with a plain or Bokeh background. Buster in the Chocolate Labs' portrait shows what a grey bokeh background can look like, while Jack and Delilah both have plain green backgrounds, though Jacks has a slightly tonal finish. The Background has been done that way so that it doesn't dominate but instead guides the eye to the subject. However, if you want anything more complex for the background I am happy to do that but, it will increase the time it takes to complete the work so is priced differently.
Lastly there is a close up of a golden-eyed Mackrel tabby, which did not require any background and is another alternative that many people like for their pets as it fills the portrait and can make quite an impact, this also falls into the normal category. Please note this look best in landscape mode, there are a few examples in my galleries do please take a look.
If you are not sure where your portrait fits or think your requirements might be complicated, please send me a photo and I will be happy to clarify.
I can work from most photographs, but as I will be working on what I see in front of me, I am dependant on them and what you tell me for accuracy. Clear in-focus photographs will enable me to achieve the most accurate likeness. Details like colouring, markings and most especially the eyes will make your portrait look more like your loved one. It always helps to provide multiple photographs when the pose you like best or have chosen for your portrait, isn’t clear or doesn't show anything quite as it should be.
Prices are per face, for portraits involving multiple subjects or the same subject at multiple stages of their life please refer to the right-hand column for the extra person costs.
I hope that covers everything but any questions contact me using my contact form below.
